Hi, I’m Melenni Balbach. A North Carolina attorney and co-founder of Balbach & Davenport, a law firm built for real life.
I started my legal career in family law litigation, working on high-conflict divorces and custody cases that were emotionally and financially exhausting for everyone involved. I saw good people lose their peace, their money, and sometimes their ability to communicate; all because they didn’t get the right support early enough. And I knew there had to be a better way.
Over time, I realized I wasn’t just passionate about advocating for clients in court; I was driven to help people avoid court altogether. That’s what led me to start this firm: a modern, client-focused practice built around prevention, clarity, and calm. I offer legal guidance for major life transitions like marriage, separation, family building, and estate planning, with a strong focus on alternative dispute resolution, proactive planning, and flat-fee transparency.

Hi, I’m Kayleigh L. Davenport, a North Carolina attorney and co-founder of Balbach & Davenport. I strive to provide each client with open, honest, and consistent communication.
I handle family law litigation, including high-stakes divorces, custody disputes, and other challenging matters with strategy, precision, and compassion. In addition to family law litigation, I am a parent defender representing parents in custody battles involving DSS.
I also serve as a Guardian ad Litem Advocate Attorney, ensuring children’s best interests remain at the forefront of every case, that their voices are heard and respected during difficult family transitions.
